Cholesterol is a natural compound in the body and is essential for good health. People FEAR cholesterol like the plague. But it NOT CHOLESTEROL THAT IS THE PRECURSOR TO heart disease, IT IS SUGAR!!!! It is more important to look at triglyceride levels than cholesterol levels.

Cholesterol is a fatty substance produced by the liver that is necessary for thousands of bodily functions. The body uses it to help build your cell membranes and to cover your nerve sheaths as well as much of your brain. It’s a key building block for hormone production, without it you would not be able to maintain adequate levels of testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol. Even more important, without it, you would die. In fact, people with the LOWEST cholesterol as they age are at HIGHEST risk of death. Under certain circumstances, higher cholesterol can help promote longevity. Suppressing cholesterol through medication can cause adverse affects to other systems of the body, i.E., liver, thyroid, adrenals, heart.

Physicians prescribe statin type drugs (Lipitor) to block the HMG CO-A Reductose enzyme. But rather than telling their patient to eat healthy cholesterol they tell their patient to eat a low fat high carbohydrate diet and avoid cholesterol altogether. This becomes a dangerous effect, because even though the statin drug stops the production of internal cholesterol, insulin is still responding to the high sugar content. Their cholesterol levels may drop but it is only because of the blocking effect of the statin drug. By blocking one enzyme doesn’t shut off the entire sequence, the liver, heart, and blood system are still at risk of developing disease from not having enough good dietary cholesterol. One the best natural ways to safeguard from developing high internal cholesterol is to eat good dietary external cholesterol.
