Eating Food Correctly

Daryl’s FIT TIP of the Day:
This may seem strange when it comes to managing body composition but how you look could be directly related to how you eat your food. How food is consumed is important. Chewing food well is most important– the more a food is broken down, the more nutrients will be absorbed by the intestines. Saliva aids in the digestion of complete carbohydrates. People who chew each mouthful fifty to one hundred times often experiences at least a few of these benefits: a reduced tendency to overeat; reduced craving for sweets; reduced desire for excessive amounts of liquid after a meal; better control of salt intake and needs; and greater energy and less overall fatigue.

Remember it is not how much food you consume it is how many nutrients you absorb that counts. Chew your food slowly to help aid in better digestion.
