This is Why Bodybuilding Has Turned Into a Joke

This is a great example of how steroids influence bodybuilders.  This guy (Phil Heath) is the 2011 Mr. Olympia winner. Just ten years ago he was a basketball player for a college team in Denver. He was 5′ 9″ 180 pounds.  He was slender and lean, a typical basketball player build. Now he weighs over 250 pounds and has increased his muscle size beyond anything realistic that his DNA code was set up for.  This is a total joke in my opinion.  I watched him training on youtube and it is ridiculous.  He doesn’t do an exercise through a complete range of motion. It is like his body is filled up with water and hydrogen, which basically it is.  In my opinion this is not bodybuilding, it is steroid-ing.  The Mr. America, Mr. Universe, Mr. Olympia contests are a joke. These guys are so distorted and unnatural that it is a complete freak show.  It isn’t about how to train or how to work the muscles of the body, it is all about who comes up with the best combination of steroids.  This is a great example of how a person can go from skinny to brawny with the use of the juice.  Let’s see what this guy looks like when he gets off his cocktail of anabolic steroids.  This type of bodybuilding has no appeal to me. Taking steroids is easy anyone can do that.  I challenge anyone to building a natural physique, going through the pain and struggles of keeping the muscle day in and day out without taking anything. A REAL bodybuilder is the one who can accept their limitations and train hard, eat right, and live through the pain without having to take a substance that does everything for you.  The steroid user has ruined the sport of bodybuilding. The IFBB is just another silly gimmicky organization that sell sensationalism and hype, no different than the fake entertainment of the WWF  (So called the world wrestling federation).  Both organizations are for entertainment purpose and both focus in on the “awe factor.”  The freakier and dumb they look the more money they make.  What a bunch of bafoons.  I will stick with Steve Reeves, Vince Gironda, Don Howorth, and those guys that were the REAL classic bodybuilders.  Forget about the current day clown show.  This freaks would be lost without their drugs.

I am just thankful I had the opportunity to train under Vince Gironda’s tutelage and to be an honest, hard working, natural-within my own genetics and DNA coding bodybuilder.
