For proper digestion of food it is important to chew food completely before swallowing. Often times we tend to engulf food which will cause inefficient breakdown of the nutrients. It is best to chew the food in your mouth until it is a liquid consistency before swallowing. The enzymes in the mouth will help begin the digestion process before getting into the stomach. Remember it is how well your body digest nutrients that counts not how much food you eat.
